While we downplay our foodie side of the business, this is an extremely busy side of our offering. Working alongside our cook, the duties of the kitchen assistant include:

• Delivery and clearing of all items between kitchen to customer – this can and will include the garden

• The preparation of all plates to assist the cook – this includes salad garnishes, condiments etc. that form part of the dish ordered.

• Washing/Drying of all crockery, cutlery and kitchen equipment used during that shift

• Sweeping/mopping of kitchen floor at the end of the shift

 

The successful applicant must have the following traits:

• A sense of urgency and the ability to work well under pressure – the kitchen can get busy, being able to prioritise and keeping up with the demand is essential.

• A confident personality – you will be dealing directly with our customers; we are known for our friendly service, so we need someone that can uphold this reputation.

• Self-motivating – if there is a lull in demand, we need someone who has the gumption to find other jobs to do. This may include, but not limited to, ensuring all sauce pots are replenished, wiping of surfaces, collecting glasses, etc. so initiative is key.

• Well presented – you are representing our business and therefore a pride in appearance is a necessity. We ask for the wearing of black please.

• The ability to smile! Having a good sense of humour helps with the demands of the job, having rapport with other team members helps for a more harmonious atmosphere and helps keeps us all (in)sane!

Shifts available:

Wednesdays 5.30pm-9pm

Thursdays 5.30pm-9pm

Fridays: 5-9.30pm

Saturdays: 12-2.45pm / 6-9.30pm (the Saturday eve shift is shift currently filled)

Sundays: 12-3.45pm

All end times are subject to the demands of the business, so could be a bit earlier or later. Start times of 5pm on Weds and Thurs can be slightly later should 5pm not be suitable - let us know.
